Wellington Central, Wellington, New Zealand Robert Walters Full time NZ$60,000 - NZ$80,000 per year

This is an exceptional opportunity for you to make a meaningful impact in the sustainability sector by supporting New Zealand's primary industries in responsible waste management. As part of a small, close-knit team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering effective product stewardship programmes that benefit farmers, growers, and the environment.

What you'll do:

Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve engaging with farmers, growers, contractors, and site staff to ensure the smooth operation of the programme. You will analyse data to inform decision-making, deliver training materials that empower stakeholders, attend industry events and provide essential administrative support across multiple teams. Success in this role means being proactive in relationship-building, maintaining meticulous records, responding thoughtfully to queries, and contributing positively wherever needed.

  • Respond promptly and courteously to farmer and grower queries via the 0800 number and info email, ensuring all stakeholders receive accurate information and support.
  • Analyse collection data related to the programme to identify trends, improve processes, and report findings to internal teams.
  • Maintain up-to-date databases so that records are accurate, accessible, and fit for purpose.
  • Offer comprehensive administrative support for the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Operations Team to facilitate seamless organisational functioning.

What you bring:

Your background as Scheme Coordinator will ideally include experience working in customer service environments where empathy, reliability, and responsiveness are valued. You bring proven administrative expertise along with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools that help streamline daily operations. Your excellent communication skills-both verbal and written-allow you to connect meaningfully with colleagues, contractors, farmers, growers, and other stakeholders. Attention to detail is second nature for you; whether updating databases or analysing collection data, accuracy matters. You approach every task with enthusiasm for teamwork-ready to pitch in when needed-and demonstrate a commitment not only to customer service but also personal growth within an organisation that invests in its people.

  • A tertiary qualification that demonstrates your commitment to learning and professional development within relevant fields.
  • Proven experience in customer-facing roles where your interpersonal skills have enabled you to build trust with diverse stakeholders.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel so you can manage communications and data efficiently.
  • Well-developed administrative skills that allow you to organise tasks effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities enabling you to convey information clearly across various channels.

You must have the right to live and work in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Background and various pre-employment checks including Ministry of Justice check and references are part of our recruitment process.
