About the role
Glenwood South Canterbury Trust is seeking a full-time Gardener/Maintenance professional to join our team in Timaru, Canterbury. In this varied and hands-on role, you will be responsible for maintaining the beautiful grounds and gardens across our village cottages and the Rest home.
What you'll be doing
- Carry out regular mowing, hedging, weeding, and general garden maintenance tasks
- Assist with planting, pruning, and landscaping projects to keep our gardens looking their best
- Perform minor maintenance and repair work on buildings, equipment, and infrastructure as needed
- Provide excellent customer service to all our residents
- Work collaboratively with the wider facilities and grounds team
What we're looking for
- Experience as a gardener or grounds maintenance professional would be ideal
- Strong horticultural knowledge and skills, including plant care and landscaping
- Ability to operate and maintain various gardening equipment and tools
- Good physical fitness and stamina to complete manual tasks
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high standards
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
