Reporting Solutions Specialist
Location : Auckland

 

Description

The Reporting Solutions Specialist is a client-facing technical role responsible for translating complex data into accurate, actionable insights. You will design, build, and maintain reports and dashboards that support decision-making, regulatory compliance, and business growth.

Working closely with internal teams and clients, you will ensure reporting outputs are robust, user-friendly, and aligned with business needs. Strong SQL, data modelling, and BI tool expertise are essential.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Understand business and client reporting needs, including regulatory and operational requirements, and translate these into technical specifications.

  • Design, build, and maintain reports, dashboards, and data visualisations using SQL and Snowflake (or equivalent).

  • Ensure data integrity by managing schemas, relationships, data flows, and quality controls.

  • Collaborate with analysts, implementation leads, and SMEs to ensure outputs are feasible, accurate, and aligned.

  • Facilitate workshops and discovery sessions with clients to clarify requirements and demo prototypes.

  • Document reporting logic, data sources, and definitions, maintaining version control.

  • Monitor report accuracy, perform validation and quality checks, and resolve anomalies.

  • Optimise report performance, streamline existing outputs, and automate where possible.

Skills Required:

  • 5+ years in a reporting, BI, or data solutions role, ideally in financial services, fund administration, or regulated environments.

  • Demonstrated experience delivering compliance or regulatory reports.

  • Proven track record working in cross-functional teams, with ownership from requirements through to delivery.

  • Proficiency in SQL, with strong hands-on experience across large datasets.

  • Experience with Snowflake (or similar cloud data warehouse) including data modelling and sharing.

  • Familiarity with BI/reporting tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, BusinessObjects).

  • Strong understanding of data modelling, schemas, and data lineage.

  • Excellent client-facing skills, able to explain technical detail to non-technical audiences.

  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and ability to test and validate results.

  • Ability to manage multiple reporting projects, ad-hoc requests, and client deliverables.
