Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.

We're seeking an experienced and motivated Programme Implementation Lead to support the design and delivery of workforce programmes across the Northern Region.

This role is central to implementing new service models and training pathways that strengthen the medical workforce, enhance employee experience, and ensure operational alignment across our hospitals.

About the role

As the Programme Implementation Lead, you'll coordinate the planning and delivery of key RMO workforce programmes and initiatives across the Northern Region. Working closely with medical leadership, operational teams, and regional partners, you'll ensure programmes are delivered effectively and sustainably to strengthen the RMO workforce and support high-quality service delivery.

You'll lead the implementation of regional workforce programmes, including new training pathways and service models that enhance RMO development and capacity. • 5+ years' experience leading programme or service implementation within health, education, or public sector environments
  • Strong understanding of medical workforce structures or training environments (RMO experience advantageous)
  • Proven stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with experience preparing governance papers and reports
  • Demonstrated understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and commitment to equitable health outcomes
