Foster Care Social Worker

This is an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated team of Social Workers in managing our foster care programme and ensuring we have a competent team of caregivers who provide a safe environment for the children and young people in our care.

You will be responsible for

  • the recruitment, training and support of our caregivers.
  • ensuring all caregiver files are up to date with all required information accurately completed
  • completing children's assessments and care plans as well as report writing, keeping up to date and accurate records of their progress
  • the duty phone and being on call to respond to urgent matters

Working collaboratively with Oranga Tamariki and other community agencies you will have a sound understanding of issues related to trauma, parenting and care and protection of children.
