What You'll Do
·
• Support the Head Chef by leading kitchen operations and staff
·
• Cook and prepare food to a high standard during service
·
• Monitor dish quality at all stages of preparation and presentation
·
• Complete food prep and station setup, with full knowledge of kitchen sections
·
• Maintain high food safety and hygiene standards
·
• Train and support less experienced kitchen staff
·
• Complete stock control and ordering as required
·
• Understand and implement the food control plan
·
• Follow kitchen open/close procedures and maintain a clean, efficient workspace
·
• Maintain professional appearance and uphold Republic's kitchen standards
·
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a commercial kitchen
·
• Strong culinary skills and ability to manage a section
·
• Excellent communication with kitchen, FOH and leadership teams
·
• Proven ability to train and mentor junior chefs
·
• Understanding of food safety and food control plans
·
• A calm and professional attitude under pressure
·
• Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends and public holidays
·
• Hourly pay between $30–$37 depending on experience
·
