About the Role

As our Group Health & Safety Manager, you will lead the company's efforts to keep our people healthy, safe and well. Based at our Support Centre you will be a visible presence around all our workplaces, supporting our leaders to provide environments where hazards (both physical & mental) are identified and risks are reduced. You'll be someone who's naturally inquisitive and is a great communicator and connector.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Manage and improve the company's health & safety framework, objectives, plans, and processes.
  • Lead our site-based health & safety representatives to ensure they are meeting their outcomes & are enabled to support their workplaces.
  • Oversee our systems, processes & reporting around hazard/risk management, and ensure incident investigations are undertaken as required.
  • Manage our relationships with ACC & WorkAON to support our people off work due to injury.
  • Keep up to date with relevant legislation and regulations, advising management of changes & ensuring improvements are reflected in our systems & processes.

About You

Our ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about ensuring the health and safety of our people and workplaces. You will be comfortable nurturing relationships to build engagement while also ensuring processes are followed and outcomes are delivered.

You will also:

  • Possess a NZ Certificate in Workplace Health & Safety Practice (Level 4) - or higher
  • Have a sound understanding of NZ's Health & Safety at Work Act
  • Experience leading health & safety teams across multi-site operations
  • Skilled in managing investigations, facilitating audits, and undertaking risk assessments
  • Strong time management skills
  • High level of professional integrity and discretion
