Mō te tūnga | About the role
Join our team as an Assessor in a permanent role, where you'll play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with the Privacy Act and Official Information Act by responding to customers who request the information we hold about them.
As part of the Customer Information Requests team, you will assess customer files and make informed decisions using a risk-based approach to provide the right information. You'll communicate effectively with customers, and other Oranga Tamariki teams and external agencies.
You'll also be responsible for identifying opportunities for improvement and participating in continuous learning and development. If you're detail-oriented and have a strong understanding of privacy legislation, we encourage you to apply.
Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring
Key requirements of the role include:
- Customer service experience
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information in an appropriate manner
- Knowledge and experience working with standard office software products e.g. Word, Excel
- An understanding of the Privacy and Official Information Acts is desirable
- Experience with risk assessing, dealing with issues, and identifying solutions
- Sensitivity and understanding of cross-cultural practices in particular; knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pacific peoples' culture
- A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent work experience is preferable but not essential
