We're looking for a Marketing & Admin Assistant to join us on a summer contract to help upgrade our digital marketing and also lend a hand in our day-to-day business operations. This is a hands-on, creative, and varied role combining digital content, website management, and general admin support.

You'll help improve our online presence, streamline our marketing setup, and keep things running smoothly. Work on-site at our East Tamaki location, with flexible hours (20 – 25 per week) to fit around other commitments. Note: Summer shutdown: December 19th - January 12th.

Plankline is a design-led manufacturer and supplier of wall systems, display panels and fit-out products used by retailers, shopfitters and designers across New Zealand. We're passionate about great design, quality craftsmanship and simple, effective presentation.


The Role

You'll work closely with the business owner to manage marketing projects, digital updates and general admin that keeps things running smoothly. Your focus will be on building and maintaining a polished online presence, supporting marketing setup, and helping the business operate efficiently.

Key responsibilities:

  • Update and maintain our Shopify website – new product uploads, copy updates, layout and image management.
  • Rewrite and optimise product descriptions and website copy for clarity, consistency and SEO.
  • Ensure all website images are correctly named and include alt text and metadata for search visibility.
  • Capture or coordinate product photography for online and marketing use (may require some travel in Auckland)
  • Help finalise and maintain Google Analytics 4 and dashboards to ensure accurate tracking.
  • Manage Meta Business Suite, Instagram and Pinterest – create, schedule and post engaging content using Canva.
  • Assist in creating new brochures, spec sheets and marketing collateral once foundations are in place.
  • Support general office and admin tasks such as filing, data entry, organising content folders, supplier coordination and basic project follow-up.

About You

You'll be a proactive, organised multitasker with a background in marketing or digital content. You'll enjoy variety, bring an eye for detail and design, and take pride in clear communication and tidy presentation.

You'll need:

  • 2–3 years' experience in marketing communications and/or digital content
  • Working knowledge of Shopify, Canva, Meta Business Suite, Pinterest, and Google Analytics / Search Console / Ads
  • Strong written and verbal professional communication skills
  • A relevant tertiary qualification (Marketing, Communications, Design or related field)
  • A good eye for design, layout and brand consistency
  • Confidence using AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT) to improve content and workflow
  • A self-starter attitude, organised, resourceful and detail-oriented
  • Current drivers license and access to a car required (mileage will be reimbursed)
  • Must currently live in Auckland and hold a valid NZ work visa or residency
