We are currently seeking an experienced Cabinetmaker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in woodworking and cabinetry production, with the ability to create custom cabinets with precision and craftsmanship using sustainable, high-quality materials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and design specifications.

  • Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood, plywood, and other materials to construct cabinets, furniture, and fixtures.

  • Operate woodworking machinery such as saws, planers, routers, jointers, and sanders.

  • Fit and install completed units in designated locations, ensuring precision, alignment, and high-quality finish.

  • Repair or modify existing furniture and cabinetry as required.

  • Apply finishes such as varnish, stain, or paint to protect and enhance product appearance.

  • Maintain tools, machinery, and work areas in good condition and ensure compliance with workplace health and safety standards.

  • Collaborate with team members to meet project specifications and deadlines.

Minimum Qualification and Work Experience Requirements

  • A relevant New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF) Level 4 certificate; OR

  • At least three years of relevant work experience

Other Skills Required:

  • Proficiency in using woodworking tools and machinery.

  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and craftsmanship.

  • Ability to interpret and work from detailed technical drawings.

  • Knowledge of different types of wood, laminates, and hardware fittings.

  • Effective problem-solving and time management skills.

  • Physical fitness and the ability to handle materials and operate machinery safely.
