A leading communications agency in Auckland is seeking a Senior Account Manager to join their collaborative and supportive team. As a Senior Account Manager, you will be at the heart of client relationships, delivering outstanding PR solutions, and playing a pivotal role in campaign strategy and execution.

What You'll Do
As a Senior Account Manager – Public Relations based in Auckland, you will play an integral role in managing key client accounts from inception through to completion.

You'll be responsible for nurturing long-term partnerships built on trust and transparency while also identifying new opportunities for growth within existing accounts.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on all day-to-day matters related to current public relations projects or portfolios, ensuring clear communication and prompt resolution of issues.
  • Take full ownership of individual client projects by overseeing planning, execution, and delivery in line with agreed service levels, budgets, and deadlines.
  • Support business development by recognising opportunities to expand existing client relationships through additional PR activities or integrated 360° programmes.
  • Coach and guide Account Executives by providing direction on their responsibilities and fostering a collaborative approach across agency teams.

What You Bring
To excel as a Senior Account Manager – Public Relations in this Auckland-based agency environment, you will bring proven experience managing client portfolios within communications or PR settings.

Your background may include time spent in consultancy roles or in-house teams where you honed your technical skills across writing press releases, developing campaign strategies, organising events or sponsorships, and engaging directly with journalists.

  • A degree or equivalent experience in public relations consultancy, in-house communications, journalism or a related field provides a strong foundation for success in this role.
  • At least two years' experience in client service within communications or PR equips you with the practical know-how required to manage complex projects effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills enable you to craft compelling stories for various media channels while building rapport with clients and colleagues alike.
  • Proven ability to write for different areas of the media ensures you can adapt messaging to suit diverse audiences and platforms.
  • Experience developing plans and recommendations demonstrates your capacity for strategic thinking within fast-moving environments.
  • A broad understanding of event management, sponsorships, marketing communications (including direct marketing, promotions, advertising, web/interactive) allows you to offer holistic solutions to clients.
  • Strong media contacts combined with the ability to pitch stories successfully positions you as a trusted advisor within the industry.
