About the Role
As a Physiotherapist in the Emergency Department, you will work in a collaborative setting, sharing expertise and resources to deliver the best possible outcomes for our patients. You will play a key role in assessing, planning, and delivering individualised treatment programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and deliver tailored treatment plans
- Develop and implement individualised treatment plans focused on improving patients' mobility, function, and quality of life. There is an opportunity to bring or grow a wide skill set in this role.
- Educate patients and their families on managing symptoms, self-care techniques, and preventative practices.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, including doctors, nurses, and other physiotherapists, to ensure cohesive care.
- Maintain up-to-date records and provide accurate documentation for continuity of care.
This is a permanent role with either full-time or part-time hours working up to 80 hours per fortnight (1.4 FTE), to be split over the week, Monday to Friday in the range of 8.00 am to 8.00pm, and /or weekend shifts 8.00AM to 4.30PM
On-call is required.
We are looking for applicants who would enjoy the variety of shift work, and who are happy to work on a rostered and rotating basis. We are keen to speak with Physios about different work hours and configurations.

About you
As a Physiotherapist in the Emergency Department, you will:
- Communicate in an articulate and clear manner,
- Build a network and develop key working relationships,
- Influence and think outside the square,
- Apply your flexibility, innovation and enthusiasm,
- Have a strong foundation in evidence-based practice, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centred care,
- Hold NZ registration in Physiotherapy and a current practising certificate with the Physiotherapy Board of New Zealand.
The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of applying.
