General Hand – Thames Sawmill

We're looking for a reliable and hardworking General Hand to support our sawmill operation. This hands-on role plays an important part in maintaining quality production standards and ensuring the smooth flow of timber through the plant.

What you'll be doing

• Stacking and building timber packets to predetermined sizes and piece counts.
• Supporting operators in the sawmill, including stacker, layer maker, bin runner and filleting work areas.
• Assisting with grading, strapping, and other production processes as required.
• Ensuring quality and safety standards are met at all times.
• Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe work environment.
• Performing other duties as directed to support continuous operations.

What you'll bring

• Experience in a production or manufacturing environment (preferred).
• NCEA Level 2 in Maths and English (preferred).
• A good level of physical fitness and stamina.
• A positive attitude and ability to work well with others.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
