Enterprise Portfolio Office Lead

This is an exciting time to join us and lead a small team delivering significant changes and improvements across our services. You will be leading strategic work planning and governance across the organisation and championing enterprise-wide collaboration and data-driven decision-making.

- Provide governance, oversight, and continuous improvement for enterprise work management (EWM) and portfolio, programme, and project management (P3M).
- Collaborate with senior leaders to embed best practices and drive organisational maturity.
- Deliver strategic advice and insights to governance groups and executive leadership.
- Champion a culture of innovation, data-driven decision-making, and enterprise-wide collaboration.
- Support planning and budgeting processes to ensure alignment with council priorities.

- Proven leadership experience in portfolio, programme, and project management.
- Skilled in embedding frameworks and driving change across complex organisations.
- Strong communicator with the ability to influence and engage diverse stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker with a passion for continuous improvement and innovation.
- Politically aware and culturally sensitive, with a collaborative approach.
- Resilient and adaptable in fast-paced, evolving environments.
Mō ngā pūkenga | Qualifications and experience
- Relevant degree qualification.
- Project/Programme management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, MSP).
- Minimum 9 years' experience in project, programme, and/or portfolio management.
- Proven experience in people leadership and organisational transformation.
- A postgraduate qualification and change management certification is desirable, but not essential.

- You'll lead a small, dedicated team of two professionals within the Customer and Corporate Services directorate.
- The team works closely with senior leaders and governance groups to deliver strategic value.
