Help shape a healthier future for Aotearoa
At Tend, we've combined the best of both worlds – cutting-edge technology and clinical expertise to create a modern, connected healthcare ecosystem.
With a growing network of 24 medical centres, nationwide 24/7 online care access, and a range of digital health services, we are building a healthcare experience that delivers exceptional experiences for patients and clinicians. We provide care that is accessible, connected, and genuinely people-centered.
Within five years, we've grown to become one of the country's largest GP primary care providers. This is achieved by our team of purpose-driven health professionals, technologists, and business entrepreneurs with a vision to transform healthcare for current and future generations.
As we accelerate our growth, we're seeking a
Chief Financial Officer
who brings exceptional commercial acumen, comprehensive capital strategy capability, and the energy to operate with both ambition and high-quality execution in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
This is a pivotal executive role partnering closely with our Co-CEOs, Board, and leadership team to guide Tend through its next phase of expansion, with the support of our investors.
What You'll Lead
People-centred leadership
- Coach, empower, and retain a high-performing finance team.
- Lead through curiosity, collaboration, hands-on teamwork, and genuine care for people in a grounded manner.
Financial leadership in a complex, high-growth environment
- Steward financial performance across our nationwide network of clinics, ensuring clarity, discipline, and data-driven decision-making at pace.
- Build financial capability, tools, systems, and insights that improve how we operate today - and scale for the future.
Capital strategy, growth funding, and investor engagement
- Lead Tend's capital strategy, modelling, investment cases, and managing relationships with our high-calibre investor base.
- Ensure Tend remains well-positioned for sustainable growth through disciplined planning, cash flow management, and capital allocation.
M&A and integration leadership
- Drive our M&A strategy - sector engagement, valuation modelling, due diligence, deal execution, and integration readiness.
- Drive a consistent, scalable approach to acquisitions that strengthens Tend's network and accelerates our strategic footprint.
Network-wide performance uplift
- Lead financial performance and operational discipline across the network.
- Elevate organisational planning, forecasting, and reporting to support better, faster decisions across all functions.
What You'll Bring
- Senior finance leadership experience as a CFO, Group FC or equivalent within a medium to large, networked or multi-entity organisation.
- A track record of driving commercial performance, margin improvement, and organisational uplift.
- Proven end-to-end M&A capability - modelling, diligence, dealmaking, integration, and external stakeholder engagement.
- Demonstrated experience in capital strategy, investor engagement, and funding environments within an expansive business.
- Strong commercial judgement, communication skills, and the ability to operate calmly and decisively in a fast-moving environment at pace.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas simply across the business, and drive measurable outcomes.
- A detail-driven, systems-oriented mindset with the ability to zoom out and shape long-term strategy.
- A leadership style that aligns with Tend's purpose and characteristics, such as being Bold, Collaborative, Innovative, and Compassionate.
