About the company

Hutec are a well-established business located in the Bay of Plenty that undertake large scale maintenance projects covering significant industry sectors such as Hydro Energy, Thermal Energy, Pulp and Paper manufacturing and Timber processing to name some of the diverse industries in which we operate.

Whilst Hutec has achieved considerable and sustained business success since inception, the business is embarking on an ambitious 5-year growth cycle that will focus on strengthening business growth from existing markets as well as developing operational exposure in to emerging market sectors which have been identified that will complement our core skills and business competences.

To achieve this, Hutec have decided to strengthen our current management structure with the appointment of a high calibre Chief Executive Officer who will lead the business through the next phase of our business growth strategy and operational excellence and execution effectiveness.

With a significant investment in production capability and staff resourcing, Hutec are well poised to extend our current service offering and have decided the time is right to look to new markets and client acquisition to underpin further growth aspirations.

About the role

As CEO, you will assume responsibility for: -

  • Managing, leading and developing a highly competent and market respected teamof professionals
  • Deliver agreed financial and other business metrics as agreed jointly with the Board
  • Implementation of 5-year company strategic plan
  • Develop yearly business plan to support the 5-year strategic plan
  • Identify new business channels and deliver on new client acquisitions
  • Liaise with key Hutec clients at senior levels of management to foster and promote strong and inclusive business relationships
  • Bring a transformational skillset and mindset to Hutec to ensure the business has the correct business structure, business disciplines and leadership capability to underpin further growth
  • Identify opportunities to increase business profitability via implementation of continuous business improvement initiatives and best practice business governance processes and management
  • Identify key business alliances and partnerships that will support the long-term growth aspirations of the business
  • Build a business culture based on inclusive and collective alignment with all shareholders and stakeholders

Skills and experience

  • Proven experience in transformational business environments
  • Managing complexity and fast-moving business environments
  • Proven experience in managing high growth businesses based on building strong cultural alignment and unity
  • A proven background in a significant engineering environment at a senior management level would be an advantage
  • A high level of attention to planning and execution of strategic plans and key deliverables to those plans
  • Comfortable within a Board reporting environment
  • Overseeing and possessing a very good understanding of financial management supporting strategic decision making
  • A high level of attention to business principles and ability to articulate them effectively
  • A proven leadership background that will amplify a track record of building great business culture and high performing teams
  • Able to effectively communicate from "Board to shopfloor"
  • A formal business and appropriate qualification (Engineering) would be preferred along with evidential proof of a successful career in leadership and business management at a senior executive level
