About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Teachers Aide to join the team. In this role, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic and personal development of our students, mainly around Years 7 & 8, with a focus on assisting those who may have barriers to learning.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing one-on-one and small group support to teenage students extra support with their learning needs, helping them to access the curriculum and participate fully in classroom activities
  • Implementing individual learning plans and behaviour support strategies under the guidance of teachers
  • Assisting with the preparation of teaching materials and resources to support student learning
  • Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teachers
  • Attending to students' personal care needs as required
  • Maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment

What we're looking for

  • Previous experience working as a Teacher Aide or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of supporting students with extra learning support
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers and parents
  • Full New Zealand working rights or permanent residency required
  • A caring and patient approach, with a genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of young people
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in education, psychology or a related field would be highly regarded
