Youth Coach

We have a meaningful opportunity for a Youth Coach to support young people aged 12–16 years within the Alternative Education environment.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping rangatahi who may be facing challenges with school engagement, wellbeing, or confidence to find their pathway forward. You'll work alongside learners, whānau, and support agencies to strengthen their connection to education, build life skills, and promote positive outcomes for their future.

This is a full-time position based in Henderson, Auckland.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individual coaching and group mentoring to support engagement, wellbeing, and personal growth
• Create and facilitate interactive workshops that build communication, teamwork, and self-confidence
• Work collaboratively with whānau, schools, and community partners to ensure holistic support for each learner
• Build strong, trusting relationships that promote belonging and self-worth
• Encourage positive routines and behaviours that support learning and development
• Assist in planning and coordinating community-based activities and projects
• Maintain accurate progress records and contribute to continuous service improvement

We're seeking a compassionate and motivated individual who can connect authentically with young people and inspire them to believe in their potential.

You will have:

• Proven experience in the youth, education, or community development sector
• Strong ability to build rapport and maintain positive boundaries
• Understanding of trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organisational and administrative abilities
• The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• A positive, flexible, and solutions-focused attitude
• Restricted or Full driver's licence
• No criminal convictions, particularly those involving children or vulnerable individuals
