Head Housekeeper

At Quest Wellington, we are seeking a new Head Housekeeper to join our team on a full time basis.

Quest Wellington is a 44 apartment property located in the iconic MLC clocktower building, a 1939 heritage building in the heart of downtown Wellington, New Zealand. Your Opportunity

This role involves the opportunity to lead a small and energetic close knit housekeeping department.

The successful applicant will be working day to day on the following goals:

• A hands on approach to cleaning, managing and supervising the daily operations of the housekeeping department to a superior standard.
• Have impeccable attention to detail with regard to cleanliness and maintenance reporting to ensure a positive in room experience for all guests.
• Conducting daily room checks ensuring all guest rooms and public areas are clean, well-maintained, and hygienic.
• Confidently and diligently follow and improve the in room and common area housekeeping cleaning procedure including consideration of stock levels, timing, standard and process.
• Develop and implement cleaning schedules, standard operating procedures, and quality standards.
• Monitor inventory levels, complete stocktake and order cleaning supplies as needed.
• Drive and monitor daily, weekly, monthly task schedules.
• Always maintain high standards of time management, performance and productivity both with your own cleaning and team housekeeping.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure the highest level of guest satisfaction.
• Have a positive and uplifting attitude which involves training, motivating, and leading a team of housekeeping staff.
• Develop and implement training and development plans for your team.
• Rostering relative to occupancy levels and verification of staff time sheets.
• Regular performance discussions with team members, check in chats and monthly staff meetings to motivate and inspire team members
• Housekeeping recruitment and training alongside the General Manager.

The successful candidate will have considerable attention to detail and always strive to ensure a positive experience for all guests.  They will have excellent time management skills, be flexible, motivated, reliable and self-efficient and have admirable leadership.

We are looking for someone with a strong willingness to learn, high standards of personal presentation are expected, alongside a highly team orientated ethos and leadership style.

The applicant must have entitlement to work in New Zealand. This role requires the successful applicant to have full availability and flexibility to work a rotating 7 day roster - including weekends and some public holidays.
