Principal Substation Design Engineer

Due to continued growth in the energy sector, we are expanding our Transmission & Distribution team and are seeking an additional Principal Primary Design Engineer to join our Auckland office.
How you'll make a difference
- Support the delivery of transmission and distribution projects for public and private sector clients throughout NZ and Australia.
- Act as Design Manager, Technical Lead or Lead Verifier on a range of projects.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders to develop innovative, practical engineering solutions while proactively managing client expectations and ensure timely project delivery.
- Coach and mentor graduates and early-career professionals to strengthen technical capability and support professional development within the team.

The qualities that help you thrive
- A bachelor's degree in electrical or power systems engineering (or equivalent).
- A minimum of 10 years' experience in substation design, including HV underground cable and switchroom design, ideally within New Zealand.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build strong client relationships and deliver high quality outcomes within tight timeframes.
