Task Lighting is seeking a full time Assembly Technician reporting to the Factory Manager producing product for Task Lighting and sister company Lumatech.  The role involves cutting aluminium extrusions, assembling components, wiring and wrapping product of varying lengths, shapes and sizes. As many of our projects involve customisation the role will be varied and includes full training.

Typical duties include

  • Assemble in a productive and organised manner all standard products using a BOM and a sample to ensure the product complies with the electrical standards and quality the Company and the industry require.
  • Fabricate project design work from approved plans and designs with assistance and discussion of the Factory Manager.  Measure and cut all extrusion materials for powder coating or anodising.
  • Liaise with Factory Manager on sub-contract supplies, deliver, and pick up as required.  Check for quality assurance of subcontract work and supplies.
  • Plan and manage the electrical assembly of the project extrusion product to meet the delivery date requirement.
  • Keep the assembly bench, tools, and work area tidy and clean from rubbish to ensure a professional approach is taken to this aspect of your work.
  • Test and check electrical and quality of completed product in accordance with electrical standards and Company policy.
  • Warehouse.  As and when required deliver to customers and project sites the completed orders and pick up of component parts or imported items.
  • Assist in general warehouse duties as and when required, remembering that the primary role is to the fabrication, cutting and finishing of metal parts for production.
