About the Role:

You'll play a key part in civil construction and road maintenance projects, operating rollers and supporting the ground crew. This is a full-time role involving physical work, occasional travel outside Hamilton, and a mix of machine operation and labouring tasks.

You'll also be responsible for ensuring all plant and vehicles are presented, maintained, and operated safely and efficiently, in line with site and legal requirements.

Licence: Full Class 2 with WTR endorsements

Experience: Operating rollers, tipper trucks, and PTO on civil/roading projects

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate excavators ranging from 1.6 tons to 37 tons.
  • Perform excavation, grading, and earthmoving tasks as per project requirements.
  • Collaborate with site supervisors and other team members.
  • Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment.
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines.

Other Requirements:

  • Competency in operating various excavator models.
  • Knowledge of trenching, backfilling, and earthmoving techniques.
  • Physically fit and motivated
  • Team player with a positive attitude
  • Good problem-solving and communication skills
  • Must pass a drug and alcohol test
