This organisation connects the Deaf community with professional NZSL interpreters for essential services, events, and everyday life.

We are looking for a friendly, highly organised, and detail-focused Customer Service Officer to be the welcoming voice and vital link in this process. This role is truly meaningful, you won't just be taking calls; you'll be facilitating communication and inclusion.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Be the primary contact for all interpreter booking requests
  • Secure all necessary details promptly to ensure successful bookings for vital occasions
  • Prioritise and manage a busy workload efficiently under pressure
  • Ensure the perfect match between job requirements and interpreter skills
  • Maintain accurate records in the booking system
  • Manage travel, accommodation, and estimate requests for assignments
  • Actively promote services and maintain positive customer relationships

About you:

  • Proven, high-level customer service and administrative abilities
  • Understanding of the interpreting process is a huge plus
  • Knowledge of NZSL or a strong commitment to achieve conversational standard within 12 months
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills
  • Experience working with the Deaf community is highly desirable
  • Exceptional attention to detail and proficiency with IT systems (including Microsoft Office)
  • Ability to manage and adapt to rapidly changing priorities
