About the role

Are you passionate about connecting people to purpose? Christians Against Poverty (CAP) is looking for a motivated Supporter Development Lead, to join our dynamic Fundraising & Communications team during an exciting season of growth and transformation.

You'll be at the forefront of supporter engagement, proactively reaching out to donors at key moments in their journey, inspiring a willingness to give, and deepening their connection to CAP's mahi. Your goal will be to deliver a first-class donor experience that leaves supporters feeling valued and appreciated, while helping to grow essential one-off and regular financial support. As part of a wider fundraising team, you will strategically plan and execute campaigns to inspire supporters to start, restart, and increase their giving.

Reporting to the Fundraising Manager, you'll play a key role in growing CAP's supporter base, building strong relationships, communicating CAP's impact, and ensuring every interaction reflects our heart for people, and leading initiatives that convert supporter interest into financial commitment.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Lead the delivery of a high-quality supporter engagement experience, that makes supporters feel valued and connected to CAP's mission.
  • Plan and execute targeted acquisition, reactivation, and conversion calling campaigns to increase one-off and regular giving income.
  • Accurately process donations, generate reports, and complete essential fundraising administration tasks.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to lead out on a variety of fundraising initiatives and activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting to ensure transparency and effectiveness in fundraising efforts.

About you

You're confident in your ability to communicate effectively with supporters, inspiring them to give generously to CAP and helping create the greatest possible impact for whānau experiencing financial hardship across Aotearoa.

You are adaptable and lead yourself well through seasons of change. You don't opt to take a path of least resistance. Instead, you leverage your skills and expertise to do what is right for the Kaupapa and the people you're serving.

You are proactive, growth-minded, and committed to continuous improvement, both in yourself and in the fundraising initiatives you lead. You are ready to undertake a journey – not only committed to your own professional and personal transformation, but you are deeply invested in enabling transformation in others.

You'll also bring relevant experience for the role:

  • A strong personal alignment with the foundational Christian philosophy, organisational identity, culture, and values of CAP
  • Excellent phone skills and comfortable driving donor engagement through all call types.
  • Comfortable using data insights to guide decision-making and campaign strategy
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Strong administration and organisational skills
  • Able to prioritise workload efficiently and manage time effectively
  • Must hold and maintain a full driver's license
