As Head Porter, you'll be the face of our hotel's guest services, responsible for leading a team that delivers outstanding service from arrival to departure. You'll ensure the smooth handling of luggage, messages, and guest requests, while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and professionalism throughout the property.

This is a hands-on leadership role where your ability to communicate effectively, build relationships, and inspire your team will be key to success.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a team of Porters to deliver exceptional service
  • Ensure timely and safe delivery of guest luggage and amenities
  • Maintain cleanliness and presentation of public areas
  • Conduct regular security checks and uphold guest privacy
  • Communicate effectively with all departments to ensure seamless operations
  • Promote hotel facilities and upsell services to enhance guest experience
  • Support recruitment, induction, and training of new team members
  • Monitor departmental budgets and contribute to cost-saving initiatives

What we're looking for:

  • Proven experience in a hotel front office or hospitality environment is preferred
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • Excellent communication – verbal, written, and interpersonal
  • A proactive, guest-focused attitude with a commitment to service excellence
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
  • Full driver's license
  • Comfortable with working with computers - creating checklists, basic SOP's and some rostering
  • Ability to work a variable roster, which will include AM, PM, and some over-night shifts
