About the roleThe focus of this role is to carry out maintenance activities (planned and reactive/breakdown) to assure and improve machine reliability and availability.
Scope & responsibilities of the role:
- Maintenance of all production machines and equipment, utilities, services and buildings, site assets (including production equipment) and support equipment.
- Installation and commissioning of new equipment.
- Equipment modifications and upgrades to extend service life and provide additional capabilities.
- Diagnose and rectify faults.
- Participate in projects, equipment upgrades and LEAN initiatives.
- Process materials and complete maintenance recording in our maintenance system.
- Any other duties as assigned by the Engineering Supervisor, Maintenance Planners, Group Maintenance Leader and Engineering Manager.
- Be on a Standby roster Agreement.
- Health & safety will be front of mind and be in line with Sealed Air Health and Safety framework.
- Ensure compliance with food safety legislation.
- Demonstrate and promote a proactive commitment to product safety and compliance by ensuring all laws, policies and procedures relating to site operations are abided by.
- Ability to make critical decisions with urgency and communicate effectively with Group Maintenance Leaders and Engineering Supervisors.

We are looking for someone who is a great communicator, has good time management skills, ability to cope with a dynamic working environment, can pick up systems and processes as they are shown and is open to growth and further developing new skills in the role. Most of all, you have a positive can-do attitude and are self-motivated.
Essential skills:
- Strong mechanical knowledge
- Trade qualification in relevant field
- Three years' experience minimum in equipment, maintenance or commissioning in a product environment.
- Problem solving/troubleshooting ability
- Can read and interpret mechanical drawings and P&ID's
- Can translate engineering principles and concepts into practical applications
- Has the ability to work in a team or independently
- Current NZ Drivers Licence.
