Spotless (a Downer company) holds three (3) Contracts with the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) for the provision of Facilities Maintenance and Management Services. Pool management and the delivery of lifeguard services is one of the important services we provide to our customer.

We are looking for a qualified Pool Team Leader to join our team at our Burnham Army Camp site for the 23/24 summer season. This is a fixed term full-time role and is responsible for managing 6 lifeguards and ensuring the pool operates in a safe and compliant manner.

As the Pool Lifeguard Team Leader, you will maintain the required business standards, follow all company processes, ensure that the pool opens on-time, and that the facility is always clean and tidy. You will have a good customer service approach and lead your team in an authentic manner. You will “role model” what good looks like and be committed to high standards of health and safety.

This is a hands-on role, so the Pool Team Leader will also be an active lifeguard who is on the lifeguard roster. You will have specific time away from the pool deck to enable you to complete your Team Leader duties which include checking timesheets, ensuring correct rostering, and managing pool chemical supplies.

All lifeguards are expected to provide a range of lifeguard services, including but not limited to:

- Keeping people safe and spotting potential hazards.
- Patrolling the pool(s) in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the site.
- Undertaking regular checks of water temperature and water quality.
- Maintaining outstanding presentation of our facilities; and
- Providing great customer service to our pool users.

**Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills**
- You will be physically fit and must be a competent swimmer. You will enjoy being poolside and helping our customers to have a great pool experience.
- You will have a current Pool Lifeguard Practicing Certificate and a current First Aid Certificate.
- You need to be reliable, willing to work shifts and able to roll your sleeves up to get the work done. Good verbal communication skills and previous team leadership experience will complement your personal tool kit.
