**About the Role**
Are you passionate about making a difference through hands-on support and practical activities? If you enjoy working closely with tangata whaiora (people seeking wellness) and want to contribute to their recovery journey, this role could be perfect for you
As a Rehabilitation Support Worker, you’ll be part of a dedicated team that supports tangata whaiora on their path to recovery and community reintegration. Our service focuses on three key streams:
- **Work Well**: Helping individuals build or upgrade their work skills to secure and maintain employment.
- **Live Well**: Supporting skills development for independent living.
- **Be Social**: Encouraging community engagement and social connection.
**What You’ll Do**
**Work Well Programme**
You will co-facilitate our 8-week Work Skills Training Programme, designed to empower tangata whaiora to succeed in the workforce. Workshops cover essential topics such as:
- CV and cover letter writing
- Job seeking strategies
- Interview preparation
- Managing mental health in the workplace
You’ll also oversee work experience opportunities that help build confidence and skills in real-world settings.
**Live Well Programme**
Support tangata whaiora in developing the skills needed for independent living. You’ll assist with both individual and group sessions focused on practical life skills, whether participants are in hospital, supported accommodation, or already living in the community. Your input will directly contribute to their recovery journey**.**
**Be Social Programme**
Facilitate social engagement activities that help tangata whaiora connect with others and participate in the community. Using a graded exposure approach, you’ll support individuals whether they are inpatient, transitioning from wards, or living in the community.

**About the Team**
Manaaki Raatonga aa Iwi supports tangata whaiora to live well in their community. We encourage personal growth by developing skills in partnership with whanau and wider community. Staff are a mix of occupational therapists and support workers. We focus on individual recovery goals using the Recovery Star assessment and Te Whare tapa wha. We offer a range of group and 1:1 opportunities supporting social inclusion, living well, and vocational goals.
**About you**
We need enthusiastic, empathetic and professional staff to engage with tangata whaiora on their mental health journey.
- Interest and empathy for supporting tangata whaiora.
- Fantastic social skills.
- Practical problem solver.
- Engaging and energetic team player.
- Great work ethic and a can do attitude.
- Able to work on projects autonomously and seek help and guidance when needed.
- Contribute to the Tikanga of our whare.
- Awareness of mental health recovery principles and putting these into action.
