Canterbury Health Laboratories is the largest
medical laboratory in the South Island and is a secondary/tertiary referral
centre. The primary function is to perform routine and specialist
testing and associated duties in the Toxicology Laboratory.

Our laboratory is open 24 hours a day, providing timely results to our
clinicians to ensure our patients are getting the right treatment, at the right
time.
To be successful in joining our Toxicology team, you will be a highly
motivated team player with excellent interpersonal skills and able to work as
part of a team as well as independently. In addition, you will be organised and
efficient with effective time management and communication skills.
We have 2 positions available, full time 40 hours per week and a
part-time role 24 hours per week.

**You will be responsible for**:

- Providing technical and scientific support
- Providing high-quality service to clients
- Carrying out techniques according to laboratory protocol
- Utilise the laboratory information system to register patients,

**Your skills will include**:
Essential
- Must be a Registered Medical Laboratory Scientist with a NZ registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand
- Have required practical skills to work in a Toxicology laboratory,

ie. HPLC, mass spectrometry, gas chromatography, spectrophotometry is
preferable but not essential for the right individual
- Scientific experience within a medical diagnostic
laboratory
- Adaptability and flexibility to work across different areas of the
laboratory
