business and Canterbury Health Laboratories (CHL) is no exception We're on the
lookout for an NZ Registered Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our
Haematology Laboratory. Our Haematology laboratory provides an essential
24-hour service to not only the hospital but the wider community. Our primary
focus is to provide the best service possible for the care of the patient.
This position is permanent part-time working 28 hours per week, 8.30 to 5pm Tue to Friday first week of roster and then 8.30 tp 5pm Wed to Friday for the second week of the roster.
We are looking for
a passionate and proactive Medical Laboratory Scientist to join us in this permanent
position with the opportunity to join our small but experienced team.
The wider team is a small close-knit group that enjoys a fast-paced and varied
workplace.
In this role, you

**will be responsible for**:

- Providing

diagnostic and specialist testing
- Use
laboratory information systems to register patients, input data, and
access results
- Troubleshooting
of tests and equipment
- Comply
with service/laboratory methods
- Maintaining
and developing your own professional development
- Providing

Your skills will

**include**:

- Experience

in Haematology (Biochemistry in addition would be advantageous)
- Self-motivation
and ability to work unsupervised
- Prioritisation
and organisational skills
- Registration
as a Medical Laboratory Scientist with the New Zealand Medical Sciences
Council, with a current Annual Practising Certificate (or eligibility to
obtain)
- Communication
