**Job Description**:
**The Role**:
Pacific Island Freight Station (PIFS) is a warehouse within the NPDL group providing third party logistics warehousing and devanning services to a range of customers. After a reshaping of our warehouse team, we have an exciting opportunity for an **Operations Supervisor**. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, this is a hands-on role managing the imports and the smooth running off our warehouse on a day-to-day basis, including staff supervision. In this role you will be maintaining systems and ensuring all data is recorded in the appropriate databases enabling the delivery of world class, best practice service to our client base. You will seek to improve and add value to the standard of service PIFS provides to our customers and service providers.

The hours of work will be Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am and 5.30pm. Overtime and weekend work may be required from time to time.

**What you will be doing**:

- Setting and managing the day-to-day work scheduling for the warehouse team
- Consistently monitor shipments to ensure cargo is loaded/delivered/dispatched
- Ensure the efficient, timely and cost-effective lodgment of customs and MPI declarations and attainment of clearances
- Championing the daily Health & Safety requirements, including running toolbox talks at the start of each shift
- Liaise with key customers on cargo call-in and delivery and document processing including Dangerous Goods, Customs and MPI processing, verifying tallying and CLP production.
- Compile invoices and maintain cost-centre data
- Compile inward and outward cargo documents, container lists, loading summaries and plans
- Accurate and timely compilation of import FCL documentation
- Manage the end-to-end process for claims handling and associated follow-up action
- Monitoring and maximising container pack yields

Please note that due to the physical nature of the role, the Operations Supervisor may be required from time to time to undertake general warehouse duties therefore must have a sound level of fitness, with an ability to lift up to a maximum of 20kg.

**Qualifications**:
**What you will bring**:

- A minimum of 3 years in a Warehouse Management role or similar (preferably in shipping and/or logistics)
- Good working knowledge of current regulations and legislation relating to Workplace Health & Safety
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven leadership skills and ability to adapt
- The drive to exceed goals
- An ability to think strategically and execute with excellence, as well as multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- A forklift licence would be beneficial, but is not essential
- An understanding of Customs, MPI and basic shipping knowledge

You are someone with strong management skills, and an ability to make confident and calculated decisions. You can also help shape the growth of our operation, partnering with our management team to ensure the smooth running of our warehouse on a day-to-day basis.
