The Principal Software Engineer will work collaboratively across the organisation, mentoring and supporting others while also seeking out opportunities for personal growth, enabling future knowledge sharing among the staff.
The role is mid-long term outcome-driven first with a focus on the use of technology and then holistic development practices. **What you'll do**:
- Share with the Engineering team and wider your passion for technology, hands-on experience and knowledge of the latest best practices.
- Actively build, design, and maintain efficient, and reliable solutions to enable continual growth.
- Display agility in an environment of constant business changes, evolving goals and strategies, and emerging technologies.
- Create the standards and guardrails for the relevant domain to ensure engineers have the guidance they need to build great software.
- Assist software engineers and testers in troubleshooting anomalies, understanding impacts and identifying solutions to bugs or gaps in functionality.
- Mentor across the organisation in an open, respectful, flexible, empathetic manner.
- Lead discussions around and help choose technologies that will benefit our platform in the long term.
Influence and assist with the creation of new designs, architectures, standards and methods for scalable distributed systems.
**What you'll bring**:
- Minimum 10+ years, including 2+ years in an architect/lead/principal role, of hands-on software engineering experience in Cloud architecture.
- Experience leading and mentoring a software development team.
- Experience with Agile methodologies, such as SCRUM.
- Ability to work with as part of a team or individually as required.
- Effective time management, planning and organisation skills.
- Ideally have a tertiary qualification directly relevant to computer science and software development.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills (English).
- Multi-Geography cloud Development, with high volume transactions, particularly on Azure
- Software development architecture and design across the Microsoft Stack - C#,.Net Core, Azure etc.
