**About Us**

Pact is a major provider of community-based mental health and addictions services across Southland, Otago, West Coast and the Lower North Island. The Pact Youth Services are known to go the extra mile in supporting young people (aged 10-24) to achieve their goals.

Our Youth AOD Service provides 1:1 counselling or group sessions in schools, community centres and services or our office in Lower Hutt. We also deliver a mentoring service in which our team journey alongside rangatahi to support them in setting and achieving their goals. You will be part of wider team of counsellors, clinicians and youth support workers working together to deliver wrap-around support to meet the needs of the rangatahi in our care.

Pact is currently looking for a full-time (80 hours per fortnight), Counsellor to join our youth community and alcohol and other drug services across Hutt Valley and Wellington and Porirua

**The Role**

We are seeking a motivated and innovative health professional to join our youth team in Wellington, providing counselling support for young people who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health issues and/or co-existing alcohol and drug related issues.

The main responsibilities of the role include providing assessment, treatment, education and counselling for the young people in our service. This role will have a strong focus on client goals and outcomes with the aim to build resilience, improve their mental health, support their recovery and support harm reduction.

**Desired Skills and Experience**:
*A relevant counselling qualification (NZAC/DAPAANZ) (level 6 minimum or similar is required) *Experience in training with alcohol and drug treatment is essential. *Excellent communication and networking skills (Verbal, written and computer literacy) *Experience with building and sustaining relationships (youth, staff and/or external agencies) *Effective time management skills and ability to prioritise *Full drivers License
