Helpline Clinical Practioner

**Job Title:Helpline Clinical Practioner**

**Location: Based in either Auckland, Christchurch or Dunedin**

**Hours: Full-time**
**and Part-Time Position Available (1.4 FTE)**

**Hours available**:

- Wednesday AM - 7.45am to 4.15pm
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday PM - 3.30pm to 12.00am

**Salary: $65K to $85K based on experience**

**About the Role**:
You will be taksed with providing quality clinical assessment, management and support of clients entering our clients service through the Helpline utilising a strengths-based, client-centred approach. You will support nationwide Helpline teams in the delivery of a 24/7 Helpline service across the Helpline mediums. You will provide leadership, support and mentoring to volunteers when alongside on shift. An expectation is that you will contribute as staffing to the on-call clinical support service to the Helpline as required. As a Helpline Clinical Practicitoner you will contribute expertise in relation to policy and procedures in the clinical services area as required.

**About the company**

Our client is a "with youth, for youth" organisation that supports young people throughout Aotearoa New Zealand. They have been providing support to Kiwis aged between 12-24 years for more than 50 years.

Their service supports all young people - this includes young people who are struggling (with their mental health or other issues), as well as young people who want to learn, grow and give back to their community.

**You are someone wholl**:
a) Registered under the Health Practitioner Competence Assurance (HPCA) Act 2003 e.g. nurse, psychologist, psychotherapist,occupational therapist
**or,**
b) a fully registered alcohol and drug and/or gambling practitioner member of the Addiction Practitioners Association

AotearoaNew Zealand (DAPAANZ)
**or,**
c) a fully registered social worker,
**or**
d) A counsellor fully registered with NZAC.

**Essential experience**:
Proven experience in mental health

Able to build rapport with clients and their families/whnau quickly

Ability to show empathy with a calm, non-judgemental manner

Capable of identifying and prioritizing risk and the safety of individuals

Ability to make time-sensitive, sound decisions based on best practice clinical standards

Strong reflective practice

Ability to engage with concurrent clients and manage demand acrossthe Youthline Helpline services
