At least 1 year' experience in a similar role. - General Managers Certificate. - Extensive food and wine knowledge. - Strong leadership, motivational and people skills. - Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. - Superior organizational skills and time management skills. - Ability to work flexible hours and work both independently and in a team environment. **Responsibilities**: - Coordinate daily front of house operations. - Deliver superior service and maximize customer satisfaction. - Respond quickly and accurately to customer complaints. - Organize and manage shifts. - Conduct staff appraisals in coordination with HR and give feedback to improve productivity. - Induct, train and develop staff following company procedures. - Control ordering and par levels for the Bar. - Work with General Manager to ensure correct systems are being followed on both ends of the day, issues are addressed and handovers are completed effectively. - Manage restaurants good image and suggest ways to improve it. - Assist in conducting monthly stocktakes and submiting by deadline, ensuring stocktakes are accurate and I or problems have been rectified. - Build and maintain supplier relationships. - Assist in the development and and maintenance of FoH systems and SOP's in coordination with General Manager. - Attend fortnightly management meetings. - Control operational costs and identify measures to cut waste. - Roster design and labour management, assist in maintaining appropriate staff levels and working to keep labour cost under 25% of weekly sales. - Control operational costs and identify measures to cut waste. - Manage and lead staff, actively working to create a positive working environment and high staff morale. - Actively build a positive and fun work culture and work to prevent conflicts before they arise. - Report any conflicts, morale and performance issues lo the General Manager. - Be present and work on the floor, ensuring maximum efficiency from staff. - Ensure staff uniforms I attire is appropriate and abides by company policy. - Assist in implementing deals, specials and promotions. - Ensure the restaurant is kept clean and tidy at all times (including behind the bar) at all times, and ensure daily and weekly cleaning sheets are completed. **In return Astoria Cafe Ltd will offer**: A stable position in Wellington.
