What your role and typical day might look like

As an Integration Architect at Merkle, you will wear a couple of hats. One will be responsible for will be playing a lead customer facing role as an Integration Architect, understanding big picture requirements, leading the integration design/architecture as a SME, and leading both clients and Merkle teams on a journey to support the delivery of world class enterprise technology solutions. The other will be helping internal teams with presales activity and RFP responses, lifting our overall capability of the practice (in respect to all things MuleSoft and broader cloud integration platforms), and mentoring and supporting junior team members in a design and technical lead capacity.

Fundamentally, the role is about helping companies and senior executives understand how to derive maximum value out of an integrated technology ecosystem. This involves thought leadership, and guidance on best practices; ultimately leading to a better understanding and experience for your customers and leveraging if customer data to support better decision making, processes and experiences for their customers in Aotearoa and beyond.

Responsibilities might include- Supporting pre-sales activities by requirements analysis, designing high-level scalable integration architecture, scoping projects (e.g. estimation, delivery planning) and delivering POC’s.- Manage stakeholder/Executive (CxO) level relationships and steering committees.- Play a lead role in analysing client problems and requirements, design and development of cloud and on prem integration solutions that meet client needs and follow industry best practices.-
- Where appropriate, supporting the technical team with hands on development and the delivery team by overseeing the delivery of integration solutions.- Create/review appropriate and accurate documentation to support solutions.- Provide mentorship and leadership to junior team members and contribute to the overall practice capability across MuleSoft and broader integration and data technologies.- Provide timely and relevant feedback to support the development of others and the performance of the team.- Interact with client-team members to clarify requirements, demonstrate solutions and their value and gather feedback to develop long term relationships.

A bit about you- 2+ years in a client-facing, Lead Integration/Solution Architect role, with proven experience delivering enterprise level cloud-based solutions, ideally from a consulting, vendor or professional services context.- 5+ years’ experience in software development/technical consultant role delivering enterprise level ERP or CRM implementations.- A strong integration background and must be confident with Java and API development.- Experience with MuleSoft (Anytime, DataWeave/MEL) and Salesforce implementation experience will be a distinct advantage. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS would also be beneficial.- Experience working in an agile (or hybrid) delivery methodology environment.- Strong communication and facilitation skills, able to ask effective clarifying questions to uncover requirements, get to the root cause problem(s), and appropriately articulate the design and objectives with both technical and non-technical audiences.- A natural collaborator, supporting different teams across the practice.
