**Casual Team member - Learn to Swim Instructor | Stanmore Bay Pool and Leisure Centre**

Here at Auckland Council, our leisure centres play a key role in achieving our goal of getting Auckland to be the most active city in the world.

And right now, we’re looking for a casual Team Member who will be predominantly working in our Learn to Swim team to join our Pool and Leisure Centre teams across Auckland to help achieve that goal

Based at Stanmore Bay Pool and Leisure Centre, this is a fantastic job where you can gain a formal qualification teaching people the basic principles of how to swim, maintaining a fun, caring and safe environment for customers and visitors - we'll provide the training you need to succeed in the role. Experience in teaching infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children is strongly preferred.

This is an on-site position. Our centre opens from 5:30 am - 9:00 pm on weekdays and 7:00 am to 6:00 pm on weekends; the ability to work early night, late night, and weekends is crucial.

**He kōrero mōu: About you**

You are a great swimmer and instructor, have a love of water, have exceptional customer service skills, and can communicate well with members of the public. Just a passion to work with our diverse community while also making a difference.

If you do have a recognised swim teacher qualification or previous experience as a Swimming Instructor, that would be fantastic However, we will provide full, comprehensive training. You must also be willing to complete First Aid training.

We strongly encourage up-skilling and training. Once you are hired you would have the opportunity to pick up extra hours in a variety of roles such as Lifeguard, Customer Service Rep, Recreation Assistant and more.
