Ko tā mātou mahi - Our Role
Construction & Innovation - The Construction and Innovation Group supports Kāinga Ora to grow its public and supported housing portfolio through the design and development of high quality homes that meet the needs of the community now and in the future, and by driving innovation across the construction sector.
The Construction and Innovation Group also advises on standards for quality homes, provides planning and logístical support in the rehousing of tenants affected by construction and provides construction pipeline scheduling and reporting.
The Housing Delivery System (HDS) is a pilot program at Kāinga Ora designed to maximise alignment and synergies across multiple functions to support inclusive, integrated housing and urban development. This role will work closely with the HDS mini-business units (MBU's) to help ensure improved housing outcomes for our customers and our communities, consistent with shaping the system for our Kāinga Ora 2032 strategy. The team will be highly focused and deeply collaborative as they work together in the office during set hours, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday with no working from home.
Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu - What you will bring
- Demonstrated industry experience in Construction or other Building related field
- Homestar Assessor or Practitioner qualification (desirable - Training will be provided if necessary)
- Ability to analyse and interpret relevant design documentation that relates to the work undertaken and contractual roles of responsibilities
- Confidence and sound technical knowledge to engage with professional peers
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently
- Sound level of computer literacy in Microsoft Windows and Office environment
- Demonstrated interpersonal, relationship management and negotiation skills
