Key community engagement role
- Engage with the communities across the MidCentral region
- Drive THINK Hauora vision of Connecting Communities for wellbeing
- Engage with Primary and Community Providers across the rohe
THINK Hauora is a backbone primary health organisation that strongly supports Pae Ora (Healthly Futures). As an organisation we champion the vision of, ‘Connecting Communities for Wellbeing’. We achieve this by offering forward thinking health and wellbeing programmes to improve outcomes for people in the MidCentral rohe.
In this role, you will partner with Iwi, Māori and other key stakeholders to achieve shared kaupapa. The role sits within the ‘Connecting Communities’ team, a flagship team aiming to understand the community through a collective impact approach, giving community voice to drive systematic change.
The Community Engagement Lead is an exciting opportunity to engage with a cross section of community groups to facilitate, connect and drive healthy kōrero around locality health aspirations and initiatives. You will weave your way between a variety of health driven community groups, Iwi, Hapū and Māori organisations to support the health aspirations of whānau and communities.
The role has a strong relational approach. You will be confident liaising and building cross functional relationships with key stakeholders such as local Iwi and Hapū, Māori health organisations, tāngata whenua and the community. You will partner with communities, driving authentic kōrero and facilitate feedback to better understand their health aspirations. You will direct the engagement into actionable outcomes to influence the determinants of regional health outcomes.
The role may suit if you’ve held a key community engagement position (ideally within the health sector) that has seen you successfully collaborate and operate across a variety of community settings - government organisations, Māori and Iwi organisations, whānau, and the community.
