We are looking for trade qualified Diesel Mechanic with experience as a Workshop Supervisor/Foreman to manage the workshop and field service. You will need to ensure an efficient and customer focused service offering that meets revenue, costs, and KPI targets.
**The role**
- Repairs, maintenance, and diagnosing faults will form part of your role, including test driving and the use of diagnostic equipment
- Manage the booking / scheduling process and ensure there is adequate work booked and parts available to effectively utilise the technicians on hand
- Complete test drives and quality checks to ensure that vehicles or associated equipment have been serviced or repaired correctly to a high standard and are roadworthy and comply with NZ on road requirements
- Estimate and quote jobs. Ensure customer order numbers are received before work commences on a vehicle
- Ensure estimates are updated and customers advised if costs change as jobs progress
- Opening, updating, and finalising jobs; ensuring all costs are recorded accurately and charged correctly
- Building and maintaining strong customer relationships
- Working with the senior staff to ensure an efficient and well managed workshop
- Ensure the workshop meets all Health and Safety requirements
- Complete training sessions and educational seminars as required
**Skills sought**
- Prior experience in a similar role and operating environment either at Foreman or Supervisor level
- Although our preference is for trade qualified diesel mechanics, we will consider heavy auto electricians and those with other relevant automotive experience
- 3+ years of post-qualification experience working on heavy diesel and electric equipment is highly advantageous
- Current class 1 - 4 driver’s licenses
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
- Knowledge of and experience with OHS requirements
- A focus on high standards of customer service

- This is a permanent, full-time role offering a work week of at least 40 hours. The role is Monday to Friday with occasional Saturday work.
