**He angitūtanga: The opportunity** The aim of the Performing Arts programme is to make an impact on the wider arts community and bring a sense of "wow factor" to the centre, building towards a strong and loyal audience following and a long-term reputation. As a Performing Arts Technician, you will be responsible for assisting in the technical delivery of Sound and Vision services to events held at Māngere Arts Centre. You will also be helping to ensure safe practice procedures and usage of the performing arts facilities by both users and staff and assisting with maintenance of equipment, building infrastructure and venue presentation. This role is 30 hours per week, generally Monday to Friday, however some flexibility will be needed for weekends due to shows and dependant on the programme’s needs. This role is based in Māngere Arts Centre. Click here to see the position description. **He kōrero mōu: About you** To be successful, you will be an excellent communicator, team player, with customer service and organisation skills and the ability to take direction and work under pressure. You will have in depth knowledge of sound and/or lighting practices in theatre and live events and be able to design sound and/or lighting to client’s specifications. You will be competently able to run events from a technical standpoint as a Sound operator and/ or Lighting operator.
