Performing Arts Technician

Working at Scots College means you will be part of a leading, independent, co-educational school. You'll be part of a team of highly qualified staff who genuinely care about supporting each other and who are committed to providing a top quality education experience for our students.
**Current Vacancies**:
**Performing Arts Technician**:
We are seeking to appoint a switched-on individual to join our Arts team as our Performing Arts Technician. This could suit one full timer or two part-timers employed in a job-share situation. The successful applicant/s need to be the College’s expert/s in using the purpose-built recording studio and the top-class technology that goes with this. The role also supports teachers and College events to ensure the technical aspects are covered as required. The role sits within the Arts Department given the close association of the work with this area, and as such, there is some evening and weekend work required with College shows and productions. This is a dynamic and busy role that supports the College in delivering excellence as a provider of education to its students.
Our Creative and Performing Arts Centre (CPAC) has been up and running for some years now. As Rātā Studios, it is being used not just for the education of Scots students, but the College also offers night classes and holiday programmes run by external tutors and experts in their field. These have become enormously popular, and it is important that we keep up with the technological challenges in order to remain current.
**With a national and international reputation for excellence, Scots College is a world-class independent school with a strong Presbyterian Heritage. It is a fully co-education, IB World School in the eastern suburbs of Wellington, New Zealand, and comprises three schools in one: Junior (Years 1-6), Middle (Years 7-10), and Senior (Years 11-13). We provide our students with an excellent and holistic education within a vibrant learning environment with the aim of allowing them to contribute as global citizens who think creatively, reason critically, communicate effectively, and develop the necessary skills to learn. For life.**
**Person profile**:
As an experienced PA Technician, you will be prepared to roll up your sleeves and do whatever needs to be done to best support College, CPAC, and Rātā Studios users. Ideally you will be able to demonstrate or have experience with:
- Audio and video post-production, AV for live events, audio and video recording of events
- Audio visual setups, e.g., projection and live sound
- Working alone to achieve setups, and to train students to assist with these setups
- Knowledge and experience with Avid ProTools and Media Composer
- The ability to train students in the use of camera, sound equipment, and video editing
- Troubleshooting of recording and AV equipment
- Management of studio software and hardware and providing video for social media
- Confident interpersonal and excellent organisational skills
- Experience working effectively with a number of tasks simultaneously
- A willingness to go the extra mile and being adaptable to ever changing situations
- An appropriate qualification and/or experience in the field
- Previous experience in an educational setting (beneficial but not essential)
