The Covert Online Investigation Team (COLT) is currently seeking Police employees to join the team as an Authorised Officer. As an Investigator, you will lead and support investigations into cyber-enabled Organised Crime.
Successful applicants will have the unique opportunity to contribute to a specialised investigative capability by enhancing tradecraft, developing covert engagement methods and identifying new investigative techniques.
COLT is looking for investigators who are self-motivated, passionate, have a positive mindset and capable of thinking outside the box when problem solving. They must be proactive in identifying opportunities to disrupt cyber-enabled Organised Crime.
This role is unique as online offending is borderless and requires investigators to build effective relationships with both domestic and international law enforcement partners. The role requires the highest level of integrity and an interest in covert policing.

Must complete NZP COLT Authorised Officer Accreditation within 12-months of appointment.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret National Security Clearance

To be eligible for this role, you may be asked to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET national security clearance.
The minimum criteria for this level of national security clearance is:
NZ Citizen who has resided continuously in NZ for the last 10 years, or:
A Permanent Resident who has resided continuously in NZ for the last 10 years, or
A citizen of or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last 10 years : Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, or United States of America, and has a background that can be verified by the NZSIS.

This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $87,306 and $91,353 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
