**The Team**: What we do
The Adult
Community Mental Health Service provides treatment for people aged 18-65 years
who suffer from a wide range of mental disorders. We currently have a permanent part-time (0.4FTE/16hr per week) opportunity for a NZ
Registered Clinical Psychologist to provide assessment and treatment
interventions for patients of the Ashburton Adult Community Service based at
Ashburton Hospital campus. Our community services cover the areas from the Rakaia River to the
Rangitata River so travel may be required.
You'll work
within a small rural multi-disciplinary team, primarily working alongside our
team of case managers including Social Workers, Occupational Therapists,
Registered Nurses and Psychiatrists. The days and hours associated with this

Ashburton each day.

**The Role**: Where you fit in
In this role,

**you will be responsible for**:

- Delivering comprehensive

assessment and support to clients and their families/whanau;
- Providing Clinical
Psychology interventions for adult clients experiencing serious mental
health concerns;
- You will be an
active participant in our multidisciplinary team, working closely with
referrers and colleagues from other agencies.
Your skills

**will include**:

- A minimum of a Diploma

in Clinical Psychology (or overseas equivalent), and Registration in the
Clinical Scope of Practice with the NZ Psychologists' Board;
- Previous working experience in Adult Mental Health is advantageous;
however, not essential ' we would welcome new graduates to apply.
- A foundation of sound
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy skills is desirable. Additional competencies
in other evidence-based treatments will be an advantage;
- An understanding of the mental health needs of
a rural health community;
- Excellent
interpersonal skills and organisational skills are vital to work as part
of the wider multidisciplinary team;
- As some travel is required,
a full NZ driver's license is also desirable.This
is a 0.4 FTE, part time position.
