**The Organisation**
The Timaru District Council aims to enable democratic local decision-making and action by, and on behalf of communities, to promote the social, economic, environmental, and cultural well-being of its communities in the present and for the future. With around 400 staff, there are a diverse range of roles from front-facing community to support and technical specialists.
**The Role / Person**
Timaru District Council is on the lookout for a real people person with skills in community engagement, administration and project coordination to be our Development Liaison officer. You will support the Development Manager across a wide portfolio of potential development projects in our buoyant and productive district.
This role will see you working alongside key project stakeholders and the wider community, pulling together the strategic insights that enable our decision-makers to deliver great community outcomes.
This role has a broad scope however key projects will include the development and implementation of the City Hub Strategy together with the Community Board Strategic Plans.
We are looking for a ‘connector’ who is passionate about building relationships with key stakeholders and our community. You will have experience working with a diverse range of stakeholders and customers, engaging with these groups to deliver key messages and to encourage their participation in community development components of relevant projects. Experience working for local or central government would be an advantage.
This is a permanent role and offers 40 hours per week. The annual salary for this role is $63,101.00 - $74,237.00 per annum.
