Wellington City, New Zealand Contact Energy Full time

Company Description
**Te Tākinatanga | Our Story**

At Contact, we believe home is the most important place in the world. It's all part of our vision to leave Aotearoa better than we found it. We’re a power and broadband company, but we’re so much more than that. We are transforming the ways we mahi, and how Aotearoa is powered, leading the charge on renewable energy and digitising customer and employee journeys in ways not yet seen here. A team of 1000+ from all walks of life who love what we do, look out for each other, and learn from one another every day, we’re stoked to be guided by our tikanga: _we touch lives to make life better_.

As we strengthen our technology, customer, and data capabilities, adopt modern ways of working, and shape our culture for greater agility, innovation and customer obsession, our ICT crew have been _busy_ - and we’re not done yet. With a bunch of projects underway and more coming, we need a Delivery Lead to support initiative owners through the delivery lifecycle, ensuring quality outcomes and awesome customer experiences are achieved across the board.

**Job Description**:
**Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the role***

At its core, this role is about being a champion for realising business outcomes. Reporting to the Head of Planning & Delivery, as Delivery Lead you’ll work to deeply understand the Contact26 strategy and enterprise architecture roadmap, partner with business units as they gear up for initiatives to help them understand and articulate their technology requirements, help shape everything up for hiccup-free delivery, then stay connected throughout the process, keeping key stakeholders updated as well as checking what else is on their radar and making sure they’re well set up for any future mahi.

There’s real scope here to influence, uplift ICT capability and our ways of working. We’re a hybrid shop, evolving to bring on more Agile ways of working but often still Waterfall in practise. Working alongside other delivery leads, initiative owners, project managers, scrum masters, product managers, product owners, architects, and stakeholders from across the business, you’ll flex daily (sometimes by the minute) to balance technology, end user and business needs against competing demands and stakeholder expectations, all the while ensuring initiatives are well defined and milestones are met.

Based out of our Wellington CBD head office, we work flexibly, so how you want to balance things is up to you, but for this role we reckon at least two days per week in the office would be ideal.

**Qualifications**:
**Ko wai koe | About you**

Relationships are key here, so as well as having an in-depth understanding of Delivery, you need to be the type of person who inherently navigates in a way that’s respectful, takes things forward, builds trust, and influences_ _successful outcomes_. _We want people to adopt a way of working that makes life easier for us all, and your influencing skills along with unflappable focus on business outcomes will lead the way there. You might have come from a Product or Project Management background, or you might have been a Delivery Manager in a company like ours - either way, you’ve been embedded in a business and really understand the business is our customer. Your working style is the opposite of transactional, equipping you to mentor meaningfully, drive continuous improvement, and build strong engagement and collaboration.

Additional Information

There are a bunch of perks to being a permanent Contact kaimahi. Along with great leadership, teammates, development, and growth and progression opportunities, you’ll enjoy flexible working, free health insurance cover, better-than-your-average leave, access to Contact Shares, a ‘Good to be Home’ annual payment toward your home set up & wellbeing, a trail-blazing parental leave policy, discounts on Contact Energy products_, _and more.
