Reporting to the Communicable Disease Manager, with professional accountability to the Nurse Director, this full time permanent position at Auckland Regional Public Health supports delivering on our mahi to protect the communities of Tāmaki Makaurau from notifiable and infectious diseases.
The Nurse Consultant contributes to the strategic direction of Nursing for ARPHS and delivers on the Nursing strategy and objectives. The Nurse Consultant works across all aspects of Public Health Nursing, building relationships and supporting all Registered Nurses and Public Health Assistants to promote, facilitate and coordinate a culture of nursing excellence in continuous quality improvement. This includes being accountable for professional advice, scholarly support and education for nursing and other clinical staff in ARPHS to ensure patients and their families receive quality care, informing communicable disease management and population health gain.

**Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills**
- Excellent leadership and quality management skills
- NZ registered nurse with current APC
- A minimum of 5 years nursing experience in a specialty practice area, health or equivalent
You will be a team player, able to build strong working relationships, have excellent time management skills and be able to prioritise and deliver what is required. You are proactive, show initiative and challenge the ‘status quo’ (i.e. processes and systems) and facilitate the development of innovative and workable performance improvements
