**The Role**

We're looking to grow our Testing Team to a world-class internal verification level. We are relying highly on the smart use of technology and automation for a competitive advantage. In this role you will be helping to develop not just the equipment, systems and scripts, but also the test philosophies and methodologies we need to succeed.

We have invested heavily in equipment in our new Christchurch test lab and we need all sorts of systems to make us both efficient and compliant, as well as ensuring a strong progression in quality. This role is specific to automated electrical lab testing, but includes many aspects of software, embedded systems, mobile, and cloud connectivity.

Some of the things that you might be involved in include:

- Helping to develop, iterate and execute our CI Processor-in-Loop, Hardware-in-Loop, System-in-Loop and End-To-End test systems.
- Organising and facilitating the construction of our automated laboratory test systems.
- Developing and supporting our various automated testing systems and design infrastructure with python scripts and interface development.
- Building operational models to support test automation, including environment (temperature, humidity), electrical install domain (load impedances, L/R ratios, wiring models and topologies), and sensor performance
- Setting up functional server mock-up and full system E2E integration testing systems, such as via temporary webservers, sandbox’s, or replica environments.
- Aligning our Test Systems with our Product Lifecycle Management systems to streamline test artefacts for quality and compliance tracking.

**About You**

We think you’ll be a fit for this role if you possess at least some of the following:

- Tertiary qualification in Engineering (or similar) and at least 2+ years experience in a development or test role within Engineering
- Experience developing automated testing systems
- An excellent ability to develop scripts in Python
- Familiarity with engineering change management and documentation systems
- Diligence in capturing outcomes and preparing documentation
- Familiarity with electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes and methods of testing systems in an electrical lab
- Experience with test equipment APIs and interface methods
- Knowledge of software source control systems such as git
- An understanding of how various technologies integrate into systems

Some nice to haves include:

- An ability to fabricate custom testing equipment and setup test systems, including CI systems, bespoke interfaces, cycle testers and other fixtures.
- Experience in electrical product qualification testing.
- Experience in testing software infrastructure, interfaces, API’s, interactions and experiences.
- Ability to develop test scripts in Matlab + Simulink and use MathWorks Test Manager.
