Wellington City, New Zealand Medical Assurance Society Full time

We're undergoing a major technology and business transformation journey at MAS so we can work smarter and deliver better results to our Members and people. To achieve this we're looking for an exceptional Head of Programme Delivery. This senior role reports directly to our Programme Director and sits at the heart of our transformation programme.

Acting as a leader and key enabler of transformation and delivery across MAS, you'll lead a team of talented Delivery Leads to ensure the successful execution of a range of complex, interdependent initiatives on time, within scope, and on budget. This is also an opportunity to influence and stamp your mark, helping us do things in a better way.

If you're passionate about delivery, a big picture thinker who is happy to roll up their sleeves and understand the detail, can lead through change, enjoys solving complex problems and bringing fresh ideas to the table, then we'd love to hear from you.

**What your day might look like**
- Lead a team of 5-6 direct reports, building a positive and high performing team culture while also ensuring clear accountability and strong risk, resource and dependency management across the initiatives
- You'll be the conduit between the project level detail and the overarching programme to ensure every train is on the right track
- Being in the detail of programme delivery plans and the mechanics of planning and executing will be a big focus for you
- Working with your team and the EPMO to develop and implement best practices in project management and delivery methodologies, including supporting agile and waterfall delivery methodologies across MAS
- Take ownership of programme delivery, working closely with business and technology leaders, to support Delivery Leads with integrated planning and coordinated execution, and ensuring cohesion across all initiatives
- Serve as the primary escalation point for delivery challenges, providing steady leadership and guidance through change
- Continuously review and enhance delivery processes to drive operational excellence and simplicity

**What we're looking for**
- Proven senior leadership skills with a successful record of leading and developing high-performing teams
- 10+ years of experience with a background in delivering complex technology or business transformation programme(s) where you had to take an end-to-end view of delivery
- Eye for detail, you know what questions to ask to challenge, and help people deliver successfully
- You'll be able to lead through change and have the ability to orchestrate and cut through detail at a programme level
- Excellent planning skills and scheduling, actively owning and managing programme delivery plans
- Great communication and influencing skills - you'll work collaboratively with people across all areas of the business, including senior stakeholders
- Adaptability, decisiveness and confidence in decision making will be critical in this role

**About us**
