**_The Opportunity;_**

We are recruiting for an Area Manager to join Ritchies, to look after our South Auckland region.

Following our successful win of all five units in Auckland Transport’s Tranche 2 tender, we have a lot of growth happening in that area

As part of this our operations in the South of Auckland will expand to have two new depots, opening in Māngere in October 2025 and also the expansion of our operations in Takanini and Pukekohe starting in April 2026.

Given this growth we have decided to create a new role of South Area Manager which the South Auckland Depots will all report to. This role is part of our Operational Leadership Team and will report to our Director of Operations.

This is a great leadeship opportunity for an individual that can ensure ensure optimal service delivery, safety, compliance with regulations, and effective leadership of staff and resources.

Ritchies is one of Aotearoa New Zealand’s leading passenger transport companies with a team of more than 2,000 people providing coach and charter services right across the country. We partner with regional councils and schools to supply public transport services as well as offering a range of bus and coach hire services to businesses and the general public. You would be joining us at an exciting time in Ritchies’ history as we gear up to decarbonise our fleet and move to a more sustainable public transport model.

**_ About You;_**

You’re a leader that has considerable experience in a similar role at a similar level, especially in a multi-site role. You're a self-starter that can work in a complex enviornment with great multi-tasking ability to meet deadlines.

You pride yourself on your eye for detail and your ability to communicate to both internal and external stakeholders across a variety of teams.

You take health and safety seriously and are an advocate for it’s importance.

You’ve got a geniune interest in public transport and want to join a team that is forward thinking and growing.

**_ Your Skills;_**
- Proven experience at senior management level
- Understanding of operational excellence
- Excellent leadership skills
- Ideally a tertiary qualification in logistics/engineering/business or similar
- Strong communicator
- Great business acumen
- Interest in public transport
- Health and safety savvy
